Since 2001, Audi has been a partner of the legendary Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm Ski Race, an icon of sporting excellence and alpine lifestyle.
Since 2006, DIE FAVORITEN agency, has been creating unforgettable moments for the brand: from vehicle presentations to driving experiences, exclusive dinners and parties.
This project represents the Audi Night – a set design that turned the evening into an immersive brand experience. The challenge: guests, including world-class athletes, VIPs and brand partners, had already experienced the same venue the year before.
"We needed to transform it completely and create a new sense of excitement. Our answer was bold: we made the ceiling the stage. By using the entire upper space of the room as a living installation, we reshaped the atmosphere, shifted perspectives and surrounded guests with a show that unfolded above their heads throughout the evening."
Because Audi Night is also an event where people connect, the staging had to work beyond the highlight moments. The ceiling installation acted as a subtle but powerful signal throughout the evening: guiding attention, marking the transition from conversation to performance, and pulling everyone seamlessly into the immersive world we created.
The night was brought to life by outstanding entertainment acts, blending art, rhythm and energy into a performance that left a lasting impression.
Technical description of the project by the designers:
We changed the perspective and quite literally flipped the traditional mountain view: a sculptural, topographic landscape suspended from the ceiling, animated with dynamic lighting and immersive sound. The installation was crafted from a fabric-like material, laser-cut into mountain shapes. Finding the right material was a challenge in itself, it had to be light enough to float above the audience, yet strong enough to hold its form and interact beautifully with light. The fabric panels were mounted onto slender rods and attached to a truss system, transforming the ceiling into a living, breathing alpine panorama.
The red thread of the concept was FEEL THE HEART RACE. More than an event motto, it was an invitation to experience the pulse of the mountains and the emotions they inspire. By blending the alpine outdoors with an indoor setting, we evoked the thrill of ski racing and the sense of unity it creates. The heartbeat became the guiding rhythm – building anticipation, shaping moments of intensity, and leading the audience through peaks of excitement and pauses of calm.
Two key creative directions shaped the installation:
HEART BEAT – The heartbeat as an artistic and sensory element. It made the experience tangible and human, resonating emotionally with guests while adding energy, intensity and memorability.
MODERN ALPINE – A contemporary interpretation of alpine tradition. The hanging landscape brought the mountains indoors, creating authenticity while using modern design language to heighten suspense and control the flow of the evening.
Our intention was clear: by shifting perspectives, we invited deeper engagement. Through multi-sensory design, we fostered immersion. The result was an environment that guided emotions, amplified anticipation and allowed every guest to feel the rush, to let their heart race.
