GAME AWARDS

LOS ANGELES - CALIFORNIA

Leroy Bennett is a lightning designer and founder of the Seven Design Works LLC group, formed of like-minded designers, programmers and multimedia consultants who together use their boundless imaginations and tireless commitment to deliver unforgettable moments on stage for live concert tours, stadium performances, and special events for film and television. These amazing artists created together a wide range of concepts and projects for all levels of artists and their extensive list of clients already includes Paul McCartney, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nine Inch Nails, Mayday, Rammstein, Bruno Mars, Keith Urban, Big Bang, The Weeknd, Miguel, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson and many more. In addition to this, in the last 8 years he has also worked as creative director and production designer of The Game Awards, an annual ceremony conceived and conducted by Geoff Keighley which is dedicated to awarding the best video games in the industry. The 2022 edition of the awards was broadcast live by the Microsoft Teather (Los Angeles).

For the 2022 Game Awards, Leroy Bennett wanted to create a set that had three separate parts yet united in their curved, arched and circular architectural aesthetic, floating in a glossy black void. All this was made possible thanks to the design of two tunnels (eyelashes), one on the left and one on the right, that provide the entrance and exits. To create the illusion of a circular tunnel he used a reflective floor. The center screen was the connection visual piece that uses various architectural graphic environments that related, complemented as well as completed the full set. Bennett's intent is to always be on the lookout for ways to push concepts beyond the normal awards atmosphere, to create illusions and shifting environments beneath the perimeters he's given.
