HEXAIMMERSIVE is a six-screen spatial storytelling format created by Hrutul, a multidisciplinary artist from Ahmedabad, India. He serves as the director, writer, composer, lyricist, designer, and live narrator of the entire experience.
The format was conceived specifically for his original storytelling concert IP, YOUFORIA chp. पार्थ, the first chapter of an evolving series. This chapter unfolds through 18 original compositions, written and composed by Hrutul, structured as a continuous narrative. The work draws from Indian history, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and Vedic philosophy, while also engaging with contemporary themes such as artificial intelligence, capitalism, identity, and social media.
The story he wanted to tell demanded more than a frontal stage. It required a performer at the center, surrounded by moving image — where cinema and live performance merge into one spatial language.
This led to the creation of the HEXAIMMERSIVE arena: six monumental projection surfaces arranged in a hexagonal formation, with the audience seated in six triangular sections facing inward toward the center stage. In the recent Mumbai production, each projection surface measured over 75 feet in width and rose nearly four storeys high, transforming the venue into an immersive cinematic architecture rather than a traditional concert environment. Upcoming editions follow in Pune, Delhi, and Bengaluru.
The six screens function as independent yet interconnected visual planes. At times they present six distinct perspectives of a scene; at others, they create a unified 360-degree spatial world, or opposing 180-degree narratives. This fluid visual grammar ensures that the experience subtly shifts depending on where one is seated and where one chooses to look.
A defining visual moment occurs when the projectors, positioned on opposing axes, create intersecting beams that form a luminous star-like geometry above the arena. With the audience dressed in white, light reflects across bodies and fabric, dissolving the boundary between spectator and scenography.
