ADE - AMSTERDAM
Outworld is much more than a typical techno DJ set: it is a conceptual event designed as a total audiovisual experience, created by German DJ and producer Klangkuenstler. Launched in 2019 as an extension of his artistic work and label, the event has quickly gained international recognition, from Madrid to Ibiza, becoming synonymous with music, space, and scenographic design intertwined.
The core of Outworld lies in its cinematic show design: venues are transformed through a scenography centered around a large visual portal, massive LED screens, industrial truss structures, and a highly impactful lighting system. These elements, designed to evoke a futuristic and almost dystopian atmosphere, work in harmony with the music to create an alternate universe that fully immerses the audience.
Even if for the Amsterdam event it wasn't exactly like that. A distinctive feature of the format is the 360° layout. Unlike the traditional front-facing stage setup, the DJ booth is often positioned at the center of the space, allowing the crowd to move freely and experience the performance from all angles. This design choice not only eliminates visual barriers but also enhances the sense of connection between performer and audience, creating an intense, collective energy.
On Instagram and other social media channels, the visual storytelling of Outworld extends the experience beyond the club: clips, images, and post-production visuals show how every element — from luminous geometries to immersive installations — is part of a carefully crafted design language meant to surprise and inspire.
In short, Outworld represents a contemporary example of how a techno event can become a fully sensory experience: an environment where sound, light, architecture, and audience interact, and where scenographic design is as central to the event as the music itself.
