ST. ROBO transforms festival infrastructure into an immersive visual landscape, connecting stages, screens, light and technology across two of Germany’s biggest music festivals.
At Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, the show extends far beyond the stage.
Produced by PRK DreamHaus, the two festivals bring tens of thousands of fans together for a celebration of rock, metal and alternative music. Following its work on the 2025 edition, ST. ROBO returned in 2026 to push the visual experience further, developing a refreshed content package and a new colour scheme across every LED surface on site.
The ambition was to create more than a collection of individual stage designs. Instead, the entire festival grounds became one interconnected environment, where architecture, technology, lighting and motion content work together to shape the audience experience.
Infrastructure becomes scenography
The most distinctive element of this approach is the transformation of delay towers into vertical scenographic structures.
Usually designed to distribute sound across vast crowds, these towers became extensions of the main stages. High-resolution LED surfaces, dedicated lighting fixtures, integrated lasers and fog systems turned functional infrastructure into active visual elements, distributed throughout the festival grounds.
Branding, live imagery, animated graphics, partner content and laser choreography unfolded across dozens of synchronised vertical surfaces, carrying the visual identity deep into the crowd.
The result is a more continuous experience, connecting spectators at the front barrier with those standing hundreds of metres away. A modular LED system allowed different content formats to adapt to each tower configuration while remaining synchronised with the overall show control.
Keeping the energy alive
At a festival of this scale, the experience cannot stop when a performance ends.
During stage changeovers, the tower screens became a platform for playful visual effects and interactive filters, introduced through custom animations. Moments between sets were transformed into part of the programme, keeping the audience engaged while the next act prepared to take the stage.
One identity. Every screen.
Built around the festivals’ existing brand identity, ST. ROBO developed a unified motion toolkit spanning line-up announcements, partner integrations, animated branding loops and custom screen formats.
Every visual element was designed to work within a single, coherent system, adaptable to different LED surfaces and tower configurations while remaining aligned with the live show timeline.
The result is a visual language that extends across the entire site, giving two large-scale festivals a consistent identity without losing the energy and spontaneity of live performance.
A reveal across the entire festival
The project culminated in a coordinated highlight show spanning both stages and the wider festival grounds. Screen content, lighting, lasers and special effects converged into a single choreographed sequence, introducing the festivals’ new brand colour and revealing blink-182 as the 2027 headliner.
Rather than confining the reveal to a single screen or stage, the entire environment became part of the moment.
At Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, the festival itself became the canvas.
