SONY FODERA SHOW

On October 25th & 26 th - Sonny Fodera debuted his new spectacular 360 degree AV show designed by UK based studio Lucid Creates for two sold out nights at the 3Arena Dublin, Ireland. 

The new AV show saw a 20m wide overhead, custom-build LED light installation hover in mid air above the crowd - completely transforming the space it inhabits, creating a captivating 360 temporary environment. 

Comprising a central, seemingly floating cyclical core in which Sonny is placed at the centre underneath. 20 custom-made LED frames fan out from the centre - each lined with Lucid’s LED product - the wings are lined both internally and externally so that light is able to travel through the entirety of the overhead installation picking out every line, curve and angle with boundless light patterns & effects displayed throughout the night.

Shifting between hypnotic, mesmeric moments of the piece pulsating as one organism, light patterns feed in and out from the centre core in an almost liquid manner. This is interwoven with high-intensity, visceral sequences where each segment is utilised individually - whipping and fanning light around the arena as it travels in the round. Intersecting lines created by the over and underlapping of the shards result in an infinity effect of linearity and circular motion, lines within lines pulse light around the over-head installation. 

Beams of light were positioned at both the outer perimeter of the overhead supporting truss ring and the inner core. These vivid beams overlapped and intersected from both truss rings to produce a layered and dynamic visual display that was hugely impactful and could be experienced in full from anywhere in the crowd, as well as moments where the 20 internal centre core lights beam down vertically illuminating the DJ as momentum builds and the rest of the arena falls to darkness - creating iconic, striking visual moments throughout the set.
